Kathryn Key

 

Kathryn started playing the piano by ear at the age of four.  She started taking private lessons almost immediately and then began studying at Jordan College of Music at Butler University at age 6.  She has performed in numerous school bands, choirs and musicals and has always enjoyed writing her own music.  Kathryn studied music at North Texas State University.   She played piano in NTSU's  Symphonic Wind Ensemble and jammed on her remote keyboard in the Mean Green Eagle's Marching Band and Basketball Band.  Kathryn also accompanied  students on the piano as they performed on various instruments in the School of Music.  In 1985 she began singing and playing keyboards professionally in various bands and beginning in 2001 played as a soloist at The Trellis in Colonial Williamsburg for nine years.  She has also sung on various jingles for the Family Channel.   Since 1997 Kathryn has been the keyboardist and vocalist in Windborne's "The Music of Pink Floyd"-  a rock band that travels all over the United States, performing Pink Floyd's hits with Symphony Orchestras. Kathryn has been teaching piano for fifteen wonderful years!  Williamsburg piano lessons with KeyBoard Productions is fun!
